KEA Entrance Exam 2014 : Notification/Application/Dates at kea.kar.nic.in

Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has issued advertisement for conducting of Karnataka Common Entrance Test-2014 that leads to admissions in  following Professional Courses in  State for  academic year 2014-15.More details regarding courses for which admission will be granted, no. of seats, application fee payable, how to apply, online applications, important dates, declaration of result, counseling, merit list, waiting list etc are as under:

Educational Qualifications :
Medical / Dental (MBBS / BDS):   candidate should have passed in 2nd PUC /12th Std / equivalent exam with English as one of  Languages and secured a Minimum of 50% Mark in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology  (40% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates)
In CET Exam: Minimum of 50% of mark in aggregate in PCB Subjects (40% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3Aand 3B category candidates).
Criteria for Determination of Merit/ Rank: Only on  basis of mark obtained in PCB Subjects in CET.
Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, Unani, Naturopathy and Yoga (ISM & H):  candidate should have passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std / equivalent exam with English as one of  Languages and secured a Min of 50% of Mark in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology subjects. (40% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates)
In CET Exam: No Minimum Mark prescribed in CET.
Criteria for Determination of Merit/ Rank: By taking mark in equal proportions in Qualifying Examination and CET in PCB subjects.
Engineering / Technology (B.E. / B.Tech):  candidate should have passed in 2nd PUC /12th Std / equivalent exam with English as one of  Languages and obtained a Min of 45% of Mark in aggregate in Physics and Mamatics along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Biology / Electronics / Computer. (40% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates)
In CET Exam: No Minimum Mark prescribed in CET.
Criteria for Determination of Merit/ Rank: By taking mark in equal proportions in Qualifying Examination and CET in PCM subjects.
Architecture (B.Arch):    candidate should have passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std / equivalent exam with Mamatics as Compulsory optional subject and obtained a Minimum of 50% of Mark in aggregate in all  subjects. (45% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates)
In CET Exam: Minimum of 40% of Mark in NATA for all categories of students including SC, ST and Or Backward Classes.
Criteria for Determination of Merit/ Rank: By taking mark obtained in all subjects in Qualifying Examination and NATA taken in equal proportions.
B.Sc. (Agriculture), B.Sc. (Forestry), B.Sc. (Sericulture), B.Sc. (Agri.Biotech), B.Sc. (Horticulture), B.H.Sc., (Home Science):  candidate should have passed in 2nd PUC /12th Std / equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects.
In CET Exam: No Minimum Mark prescribed in CET.
Criteria for Determination of Merit/ Rank: By taking mark in equal proportions in Qualifying Examination and CET in PCB subjects.
Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. &A.H.): Passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std / equivalent exam and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% mark in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English subjects. (40% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates)
In CET Exam: No Minimum Mark prescribed in CET.
Criteria for Determination of Merit/ Rank: Only on  basis of mark obtained in CET.
B.Tech.(Food Technology), B.Tech.(Dairy Technology), B.F.Sc (Bachelor of Fisheries Science), B.Tech. (Food Science & Tech.) and B.Sc.(Ag. Marketing and Co-operation): Passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std / equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, Mamatics and Biology as optional subjects.
In CET Exam: No Minimum Mark prescribed in CET
Criteria for Determination of Merit/ Rank: By taking mark in equal proportions in Qualifying Examination and CET in PCMB subjects.
B.Tech.(Agriculture Engineering): Passed in 2nd PUC /12th Std / equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry and Mamatics as optional subjects.
In CET Exam: No Minimum Mark prescribed in CET.
Criteria for Determination of Merit/ Rank: By taking mark in equal proportions in Qualifying Examination and CET in PCMB subjects.
B-Pharma: Passed in 2nd PUC /12th Std / equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Physics, Chemistry and Mamatics and obtained a Minimum of 45% of Mark in aggregate in PCM/PCB (40% for SC, ST, Cat- 1, 2A, 2B, 3Aand 3B category candidates). OR Passed in Diploma in Pharmacy Examination from an institution approved by  Pharmacy Council of India Under Section 12 of  Pharmacy Act and has secured minimum of 45% mark. (40% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3Aand 3B category candidates).
In CET Exam: No Minimum Mark prescribed in CET.
Criteria for Determination of Merit/ Rank: Only on  basis of mark obtained in PCM or PCB Subjects (whichever is higher) in CET.
2nd Year B. Pharma: Passed in Diploma in Pharmacy Examination from an institution approved by  Pharmacy Council of India Under Section 12 of  Pharmacy Act and has secured minimum of 45% mark. (40% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3Aand 3B category candidates).
In CET Exam: No Minimum Mark prescribed in CET.
Criteria for Determination of Merit/ Rank: Only on  basis of mark obtained in PCM or PCB Subjects (whichever is higher) in CET.
Pharma-D: Passed in 2nd PUC /12th Std / equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Physics, Chemistry and Mamatics. OR Passed in Diploma in Pharmacy Examination from an institution approved by  Pharmacy Council of India Under Section 12 of  Pharmacy Act.
In CET Exam: No Minimum Mark prescribed in CET.
Criteria for Determination of Merit/ Rank: Only on  basis of mark obtained in PCM or PCB Subjects (whichever is higher) in CET.
Application form details
Within Karnataka: Brochure cum Application Form will be supplied through  schools/ colleges located within Karnataka where  students are pursuing 2nd PUC or 12th standard.  students have to first download  Challan fromKEA Website by entering  name, date of birth, category and  name of  bank (State Bank of Mysore, Indian Bank, Central Bank of India). n  students have to pay  requisite fee in any of  respective bank branches.  bank will retain a copy of  Challan (Bank copy) and handover  remaining two copies of  Challan to  students.
Furr, students have to handover  Challan (KEA copy) to  concerned School I College Principal to obtain  brochure. Cost of  Brochure is Rs. 650/- (Rs. 500/- for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Category-I)  repeater and ex-students who have passed  qualifying examination within  State of Karnataka before 2014 should also download  Challan, pay  fees in  bank for  above said amount and submit  copy of  Challan to  respective schools I colleges to obtain  brochure cum application form.
Last Date to pay  fees in  bank after downloading  Challan and for submission of KEA challan copy to  colleges is 17-03-2014.
Outside Karnataka:  Karnataka candidates residing outside Karnataka (Horanadu, Gadinadu and or Karnataka candidates i.e., who fulfils  eligibility conditions) who are studying or who have studied 12th standard or equivalent examination outside  State of Karnataka, within  territory of India, can procure  brochure cum application form by “SPEED POST”, by sending a self-addressed cloth-lined envelope of size 25 cm x 30 cm along with a Demand Draft for Rs. 750/- drawn in favourof “ Executive Director, Karnataka Examinations Authority, Bangalore”, payable at Bangalore and a Karnataka candidate residing outside India can get  brochure cum application form by sending a demand draft for Rs. 5,000/-.  contents on  self-addressed envelope should be in English or Kannada language only.  cover in which  demand draft and self-addressed envelope are sent should be boldly super scribed with  words “REQUEST FOR CET- 2014 BROCHURE” and should be sent to Executive Director by “Speed Post” ONLY.
 last date for submission of Demand Drafts by “Speed Post” to KEA is 17-03-2014.
Last date for receipt of application form is: 05-04-2014
